Blueberry Dog Treats

Treat your furry friend to these delicious and nutritious blueberry dog treats, made with wholesome ingredients and packed with antioxidants for a healthy snack.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries

  • 1 cup oat flour (you can make this by blending oats until they become a fine powder)

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 1 egg

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Rinse the blueberries and pat them dry.

  3. If you don't have oat flour, blend rolled oats in a food processor until they become a fine powder.

  4. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the oat flour and Greek yogurt.

  5. Add the egg and mix well until fully incorporated.

  6. Gently fold in the blueberries.

  7. Scoop small spoonfuls of the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Flatten each scoop slightly with the back of the spoon.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the treats are firm and slightly golden brown around the edges.

  9. Let the treats cool completely on a wire rack before giving them to your dog.

  10. Store the treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Tips:

  • Portion Control: Remember to feed treats in moderation as part of a balanced diet.

  • Substitutions: If your dog has any dietary restrictions, you can adjust the recipe accordingly. For example, you can use a different type of flour if your dog is sensitive to oats.

  • You can store these blueberry dog treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. If you want to store them for a longer period, you can freeze them for up to three months. Just be sure to thaw the treats completely before giving them to your dog.

These treats are a healthy and delicious way to reward your dog!

Blueberries are generally safe and beneficial for dogs to eat. They are rich in antioxidants, fiber, and vitamins, which can contribute to a dog's overall health. Blueberries can be given to dogs as a treat in moderation. However, it's always a good idea to introduce any new food into your dog's diet gradually and to consult with a veterinarian, especially if your dog has any specific dietary restrictions or health conditions.
