Pope Benedict XVI knew about priests who abused children but failed to act when he was archbishop of Munich from 1977 to 1982. But Benedict is not the only Pope with no morals. When Pope Francis became the head of the Catholic Church, many hoped it would remove the taint of scandal that has plagued the Church for decades. But it seems the reformist Pope may himself be complicit in a scandal of his own. In a letter that has rocked the Vatican, Pope Francis has been accused of hiding the abuse of the former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick. So, just how sinister motives of the catholic church? These are the people that claim to be morally superior?
Christian conservatives are one of the strongest arguments against religion. Sadly, most Christians are too ignorant and biblically illiterate to see why. The bible is such a mess that, although almost every Christian pretends to use it as moral standard, almost none really do. Most Christian seem to cherry picks the parts they find appealing, ignores the rest. Christians who fight to limit access to birth control, denial or gay rights, and embrace republican economic, foreign, and gun polices are throwing out the wisdom in the bible and embracing the shit. Fortunately for them, God doesn’t exist because if he did, he wouldn’t be too happy. But Christians will keep pushing us to believe.
Religion is like a penis: it's fine to have one, it's fine to be proud of it, but please don't whip it out and start waving it around in public, and please don't try to shove it down our children's throats
What is the Religious Freedom Restoration Act?
The Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) is a federal law passed in 1993 which is intended to prevent other federal laws from substantially burdening a person’s free exercise of religion. It is now being use to take away our freedoms, like abortion laws, gay and transgender rights. How these things limit their religious freedoms is beyond my comprehension.
