Johnny Winter, legendary blues-rock guitarist, singer, and producer known for his fiery guitar playing and unmistakable energy. Born in 1944 in Beaumont, Texas, Winter rose to prominence in the late 1960s with his virtuosic slide guitar work and raw, soulful voice.
His breakthrough came with his performance at Woodstock in 1969, solidifying his status as one of the greats in blues and rock music. Throughout his career, he collaborated with icons like Muddy Waters, producing several of Waters' Grammy-winning albums, and remained dedicated to keeping traditional blues alive.
Despite struggles with health and substance abuse, Winter continued to perform and record until his passing in 2014, leaving behind an enduring legacy as one of the most influential blues guitarists of all time.
