The Philadelphia Folk Festival in 1970 was a vibrant celebration of folk music, held from August 28–30 at the Old Pool Farm in Schwenksville, Pennsylvania. Organized by the Philadelphia Folksong Society, the festival was already an established tradition, drawing folk enthusiasts from across the country.

The 1970 lineup featured notable artists such as Doc Watson, John Hartford, Tom Paxton, and The New Lost City Ramblers, among others. The festival, known for its intimate atmosphere, showcased a mix of traditional and contemporary folk music, with performances, workshops, and late-night jams.
At the height of the folk revival, the event fostered a strong sense of community, uniting both seasoned folk legends and emerging talent.
