Forest Green was a progressive/jazz rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, active in the early 1970s. They released a self-titled album in 1973 under Capitol Records. The album features tracks such as "Never Found A Way," "I've Been This Way Before," and "Black Shepherd."
The band's lineup included:
Timothy Jordan – vocals, electric lead guitar, rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar
Syd Silverstein – vocals, electronic bass
Ray Barrett – vocals, organ, electric piano, clavinet, tenor recorder
Robert Mast – flute, tenor saxophone
Donald Hettinger – flute, alto saxophone, electric bassoon, percussion
Arthur Cohen – piano
Lon Poland – drums, bongos
Forest Green toured the East Coast, sharing stages with notable artists such as Roy Buchanan, Todd Rundgren, Hall & Oates, Steve Miller, and Bruce Springsteen. One of their concert highlights was opening for Roy Buchanan in front of 80,000 people in New York's Central Park.
