Our journey is best measured in friends

Shared experiences & inside jokes turn into memories & stories that you can later reminisce on. Catching up, even years later, is a joy. It’s easy to stay connected with social media, so when you meet up again, it’s like there has been no time lost. Pick up where you left off, talk about where you’ve been & where you’re going, and make plans to visit somewhere new together.

You know life is like a rollercoaster. You experience ups and downs and good times and bad times and on your journeys through life you come across different people. People you haven’t necessarily known before. People that are on the same or similar journey as you. Would this journey be the same for you without these people? You will have travelled miles and miles without speaking to someone?

To me the journey is not about the distance you have travelled, it is about the smiles you have experienced, the happiness you have felt, the downs you have mastered, the stories you have heard. Friends are the people that digest these experiences with you. Sometimes it might just be the person showing you the right way to the next coffee shop. And sometimes occasions like this can enrich your life.

So to me the friends I make on my journey, whatever the journey might be for you: travelling, hobbies, business, sport, creativity, etc., are the closest and most important to me.
