The Lesser of Two Lethargies
In a world where political choices seem to resemble a game of Russian roulette with options ranging from "bad" to "worse," the notion of settling for Joe Biden as an improvement over Donald Trump is akin to swapping a flat tire for one with a slow leak.
Sure, Biden may not be as bombastic or bewilderingly bizarre as his predecessor, but let's not mistake a less turbulent ride for a smooth journey.
While Trump may have the energy of a caffeinated toddler and the coherence of a malfunctioning GPS, Biden offers the charm of a grandpa desperately trying to figure out how to work the remote control.
Yet, in this electoral carnival of mediocrity, Biden's brand of benign befuddlement somehow comes off as a beacon of hope.
After all, when faced with the choice between a raging wildfire and a flickering candle, perhaps it's best to opt for the less likely to burn the house down – even if it means fumbling around in the dark for four more years.
