Degrees in Hand, Logic Nowhere to Be Found: Politicians at Their ‘Best’
Today's politicians may exemplify how one can be highly educated but still unintelligent in the ways that truly matter for leadership. While many hold prestigious degrees and are well-versed in the mechanics of governance, their decisions often lack critical thinking, empathy, or practical solutions to complex societal problems.
For instance, some politicians may focus more on party lines and personal gain than on the well-being of the public or the long-term consequences of their actions. Their education may have taught them how to navigate political systems, but it might not have fostered the deeper understanding needed to address the needs of diverse communities or to make ethical, well-reasoned choices.
In such cases, education does not always translate to wisdom or effective leadership, and their inability to think beyond the surface can hinder progress and compromise the common good.
There are several politicians today who have been criticized for fitting the bill of being highly educated but lacking the practical intelligence or critical thinking necessary for effective leadership. Politicians with high levels of formal education, such as Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, and then there is Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert, come to mind.
