When children forget their parent are alive,
A tragedy strikes that's hard to survive,
The bond between them fades away,
And memories of love begin to decay.
The parent's heart aches with despair,
As they watch their child forget they're there,
They long to hold them once again,
To ease the pain and ease the strain.
But time goes on, and distance grows,
As the child forgets, the parent knows,
The moments shared, the love once felt,
Are fading fast, and all but melt.
Yet still the parent holds on tight,
Hoping to restore what's been lost in sight,
And with each passing day, they pray,
That their child will remember someday.
For nothing's stronger than a parent's love,
A bond that's sent from up above,
And though the child may have forgotten for a while,
The parent's love will always reconcile.
