Oh, unrequited love, a bitter pill to swallow
Yearning for affection, yet feeling so hollow
Days filled with longing, nights full of pain
With no one to hold, it's hard to remain sane
The heartache of unreturned love can be so cruel
Leaves you feeling like a hopeless fool
You try to move on, but it's easier said than done
When all you want is to be someone's number one
But love is not a game that can be won or lost
And sometimes the cost is a heart that's tossed
Into the sea of loneliness and despair
With no one to catch it, it's hard to repair
But take heart, dear one, for love may still be found
In the most unexpected places, it can abound
Until then, cherish the love you have for yourself
And know that someday, someone will love you like nothing else.
