The Darkness of Despair

by Belle Webb

In the darkness of despair,

A soul once bright, now stripped bare,

Lost in sorrow and pain,

The will to live seems in vain.

No more laughter or joy,

Only tears and emptiness to employ,

A heart heavy with grief,

Longing for a moment of relief.

Days pass by in a blur,

The future uncertain and obscure,

A burden too heavy to bear,

As life seems to fade into thin air.

But even in the depths of despair,

There's still a glimmer of hope somewhere,

A ray of light to guide the way,

And bring back the will to live another day.

For life is a precious gift,

And though it may be hard to lift,

The weight of the world on your shoulders,

There's always a reason to keep growing bolder.

So hold on tight, dear friend,

And let your heart and soul mend,

For the road ahead may be steep,

But the will to live is yours to keep.
