Old Man and the Creek

By the creek where waters gleam and flow,

An old man sits, his face aglow,

With lines cast far, he drifts in thought,

Of days when joy was easily caught.

He sees a boy with fishing pole,

Barefoot, carefree, with a soul,

That danced with ripples in the brook,

And found adventure in every nook.

He remembers sunlit days so bright,

The thrill of fish and pure delight,

With friends who shared the laughter loud,

And nature's wonders as their shroud.

"Oh, to be young just one more time,

To fish and play, to freely climb,

To feel the creek's cool, gentle kiss,

In simple, unspoiled moments of bliss."

Though age has come and days have passed,

His heart's a child, forever cast,

In memories of that carefree stream,

Where fishing filled each day with dreams.

The poem reminds us that the spirit of youth, with its boundless joy and freedom, resides within our memories. Like the old man by the creek, we carry echoes of our youthful days, where simple pleasures filled our hearts with happiness. These memories gently remind us that the spirit of youth remains vibrant, waiting to be rediscovered in moments of quiet reflection and nostalgia.
