In Search of Forgotten Smiles

In shadows deep, I wander lost,

A heart once bright, now tempest-tossed.

It's been so long since I smiled, I fear,

The memory fades, the echo's unclear.

Through misty veils of time, I gaze,

Recalling days of sunlit blaze.

But now the weight of sorrow bears,

And laughter's song eludes my cares.

Oh, what is joy? I cannot tell,

The mirthful chord I once knew well.

The warmth that danced upon my face,

Now distant as a waning grace.

The moments fleet, like whispers gone,

A melody I can't prolong.

Yet deep within this weary soul,

A spark remains, a hidden goal.

I'll chase the light, though shadows cling,

And seek the joy that life can bring.

For in the darkest depths I see,

The strength to set my spirit free.

So let me smile, though tears may fall,

I'll find the grace to stand up tall.

Though it's been long since I have known,

That joy will find its way back home.

The inspiration for this poem comes from the human experience of going through difficult times and losing touch with the feeling of happiness. It explores the emotions of longing and nostalgia for a time when smiles were more frequent and genuine. The poem delves into the idea of searching for joy and light in the midst of darkness and sorrow, symbolizing the resilience of the human spirit in overcoming challenges.
