Has Empathy Been Lost in the Modern Age?
In today’s world, it often feels as though empathy is in short supply, as society becomes more fragmented and self-centered. The fast-paced nature of modern life, driven by technology and social media, making it easier for people to become disconnected from the experiences of others.
It does feel like there’s less empathy in the world today, and that might be because we’re all more disconnected from each other. With the constant rush of modern life and the rise of social media, it’s easy to get caught up in our own world and forget about the struggles of others. A lot of people focus on personal success and individual achievements, which can make it harder to connect with others or show kindness when someone’s going through a tough time.
While empathy is still part of human nature, it can feel like it’s fading as we become more distracted and less focused on each other’s well-being. However, this shift is not necessarily the result of empathy disappearing, but rather its weakening due to the fast-paced, self-centered world we live in today.
