The Illusion of the Unseen, a Pot Smokers Tale: A True Story. by Belle
As I walked down Ashdale Street in Philadelphia, coming home from my girlfriend Anne's. Getting high of course. I couldn't help but notice the strange and dazzling lights hovering in the night sky, above Tacony Creek Park. The lights spun around in a mesmerizing fashion, casting an eerie glow across the trees in the park. I stood there, transfixed, stoned, my heart racing as I tried to make sense of what I was seeing.
As I looked closer, I realized that the object was disc-shaped, just like a classic UFO from the movies. It seemed to be hovering in mid-air, defying gravity as it spun its hypnotic lights. I could hear the hum of engines, but they sounded different from any plane or helicopter I had ever heard before, a softer sound. My mind raced with possibilities, wondering if this was some sort of extraterrestrial encounter.
Suddenly, my reverie was broken by the sound of a passing plane. I looked up and saw a commercial airliner with flashing lights, under its wings, with an advertisement. It slowly dawned on me that what I had been seeing was not a UFO after all, but merely an airplane with spinning lights and that I was really high.
Feeling a sense of disappointment, I continued walking down the street, my eyes glued to the passing airplane. The bright lights now seemed dull and ordinary, no longer holding any magic or mystery. As the plane disappeared from view, I couldn't help but wonder if others had been fooled by the same trick of light and shadow. though I have never seen anything like before or since.
I continued my walk, my mind still buzzing with the excitement of my close encounter. Even though it wasn't the UFO sighting I had hoped for, it was one intense high. I still felt a sense of wonder and awe at the vastness and mystery of the universe. Who knows what else could be out there, waiting to be discovered?
