Fleeting Nature of Happiness

—Finding Meaning Between Joy and Sorrow

If happiness is destined to end, is it ever truly ours?

Life is a constant ebb and flow, a cycle of joy and sorrow that never allows us to hold onto either for too long. If every moment of happiness is destined to be followed by sadness, can we ever truly claim joy as our own?

Joy and sorrow trade places endlessly—perhaps the secret is in embracing both.

Perhaps happiness is not something to possess but something to experience, fleeting yet meaningful in its impermanence. Its fragility is what makes it precious—like a sunset fading into night, its beauty lies in knowing it won’t last forever.

Life’s rhythm is ever-changing—perhaps meaning lies not in clinging to happiness, but in embracing the journey.

And yet, just as sorrow follows joy, joy will also return, reminding us that neither state is permanent. Maybe the purpose is not to cling to happiness or resist sorrow, but to accept the rhythm of life and find meaning in both.

Life drifts like the ebbing tide,

Joy and sorrow side by side.

Not to grasp, nor to restrain,

But to dance within the rain.
