Small Faces were an English rock band formed in London in 1965, known for their blend of mod, R&B, and psychedelic rock.
The classic lineup featured Steve Marriott (vocals, guitar), Ronnie Lane (bass), Kenney Jones (drums), and Ian McLagan (keyboards). Initially recognized for energetic hits like Sha-La-La-La-Lee and All or Nothing, they later embraced a more experimental sound, culminating in their 1968 concept album Ogdens’ Nut Gone Flake, a landmark of British psychedelia.
Despite their success, internal tensions led Marriott to leave in 1969, prompting the band’s transformation into Faces with Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood. Small Faces remain influential in mod culture and 1960s rock history.
